Intepersonally, Who Am I?
Do I live in an "appearance culture?"

To some extent, yes I live in an appearance culture because I do let certain things such as fashion/media to influence me to make purchases. However, I don't let certain people sway the way I feel about serious topics and issues unless it would be for the better of my myself and other people; I'm very open-minded.

-Self-Awareness:

I've come to realize that possessions do not make me who I am.

-Social Comparison:

I see my friends and peers being able to buy super nice things and it to an extent makes me jealous and makes me wish I could buy those things at the current moment in time.

-Looking-Glass Self:

When I look at the decision I make and such, I wish that I could know whether they will turn out for the best or not. I am and sometimes should be really happy for what I have but I always seem to want more. I wish I could just take more time to be thankful for what I do have.

-Self-Discrepancy Theory:

The need to fit in and feeling pressure to be a certain way from my family, friends, and boyfriend.

Family: Face to Face & Text

I prefer talking to my family members face to face rather then speaking to them over the phone. I just feel that we have a stronger conversation when we speak face to face and it makes me feel closer to them. We occassionally text if they want or have to tell me something.

Boyfriend: Face to Face & Text

My boyfriend and I spend a lot of time together when we are free because we have a very strong friendship as well as our boyfriend/girlfriend relationship. Being together is just fun and a regular thing. We text when we are not together to see how eachother's day has been and to fill eachother in on what we've been doing that day.

Co-workers: Face to Face & Phone

My co-workers and I spend a lot of time together because of the long days we always work. The best employees are often worked together and are scheduled based on performance so we are often grouped together. When I need to get ahold of them, I usually give them a call because it's quick and it's the best way to handle it for all of us.

Friends/Peers: Text & Facebook

I'm usually busy so I don't have a regular schedule for seeing my friends but I love when I do get to see them. To stay connected, I facebook them quite often and send them a text every now and them. It shows them I miss them and do care about them.
